Mesa is one of the largest cities in Arizona, in the East Valley between Tempe and Apache Junction. US 60 and Loops 101 and 202 cross the city, Valley Metro light rail runs into downtown Mesa, and Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport serves the southeast side. Housing covers a wide range: older homes near downtown, ranch-style neighborhoods from the 1970s through the 1990s, condos and townhomes, larger-lot properties in some areas, and new construction in southeast Mesa communities such as Eastmark.

Local amenities include the Mesa Arts Center, Sloan Park, the spring training home of the Chicago Cubs, Usery Mountain Regional Park and quick access to the Salt River recreation areas.
