San Tan Valley is in northern Pinal County, just south and east of Queen Creek and the Maricopa County line. Ironwood Drive, Gantzel Road and Hunt Highway are the main routes north toward Loop 202, State Route 24 and the East Valley's job centers, and Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport is a short drive away. Most homes were built from the early 2000s on in master-planned communities such as Johnson Ranch, San Tan Heights, Pecan Creek and Copper Basin, and several builders are still selling new homes.
Expect mostly single-family homes, many with HOAs and community pools or parks; some areas toward the mountains have larger lots. San Tan Mountain Regional Park offers hiking, biking and horseback trails on the area's west side. Public schools are run by the local districts, with many charter options; confirm boundaries for any address directly with the district.
