Living in Peoria, AZ
Peoria stretches a long way north to south, from established neighborhoods near Loop 101 all the way up past Loop 303 toward Lake Pleasant. Most of the city is in Maricopa County, and a small northern part reaches into Yavapai County. Where you buy changes the feel a lot.
In the south and central parts of the city, you'll find established neighborhoods with easy access to Loop 101. That area is also home to the P83 Entertainment District and Peoria Sports Complex, where the San Diego Padres and Seattle Mariners train each spring. North Peoria is newer. Vistancia is a large master-planned community there, with neighborhoods such as Blackstone and Five North and the 55+ Trilogy at Vistancia. Lake Pleasant Regional Park is close by, with two marinas, boating and trails.

North Peoria is also growing as a job center. Amkor Technology is building a large semiconductor packaging campus near Loop 303 and Lake Pleasant Parkway, and the city is preparing more land in that area for employers. Peoria Unified School District and the City of Peoria are among the largest employers today.
